Utilizando objetos improvisados, los monos de Brasil arrancan ara\u00f1as y ra\u00edces de plantas del suelo para alimentarse. Por lo general, les basta con una piedra o un palo. Un ejemplo de este inusual comportamiento se registr\u00f3 recientemente en el Parque Nacional de Ubahara: all\u00ed, los capuchinos de rayas negras escarban activamente en el suelo en busca de manjares, y tambi\u00e9n utilizan primitivos “martillos” para abrir nueces.<\/p>\n
Los cient\u00edficos observaron a un grupo de 31 individuos durante casi dos a\u00f1os y registraron 214 episodios de excavaci\u00f3n con o sin herramienta. En aproximadamente el 50% de los casos se utiliz\u00f3 piedra como herramienta de excavaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
